International day of Happiness 2015

International day of Happiness 2015

International Day of Happiness (March 20th) recognizes the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals and aspirations in the lives of Community Development Work6human beings around the world and the importance of their recognition in public policy objectives.

Green Cameroon invites international and regional organizations as well as civil society, including non-governmental organizations and individuals, to observe the International Day of Happiness in an appropriate manner, including through education and public awareness-raising activities. We need your help to make the world a happier and more connected place.

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude. Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the achievement of value.

Green Cameroon stresses the fact that economic growth must be inclusive, equitable, and balanced, such that it promotes sustainable development, and alleviates poverty. Additionally Green Cameroon acknowledges that in order to attain global happiness, economic development must be accompanied by social and environmental well being.

The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature. On this day we are hoping to show solidarity with the millions of people around the world suffering from poverty, human rights abuses, humanitarian crises and the effects of environmental degradation and climate change.

Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more. Decide this day to give more and make “you” happy.

Inspire hope for a better tomorrow
